Employing papermaking processes to blend the workwear of the museum conservator – the white workcoat – with the treads of unpicked souvenir table linen and the ‘remains of the remains’ salvaged from sites of industrial textile production and circular economy, Runner hangs from a frame resembling a clothes drying rack. Derived from the woven pattern of traditional Croatian table linen, it incorporates the fibres of flea market relics from a once booming industry and grass collected from the site of the Kamensko workers’ hunger strike.
Made for the exhibition We are collecting today for tomorrow at Ethnographic Museum Zagreb in 2024, curated by and developed with CIMO following a Briefing on Soft Arts Residency at CIMO in 2023.
